Goldstone is a man-made stone created in seventeenth-century Venice. It is speculated an order of monk alchemists, intent on creating man-made gold, discovered goldstone when a pot of molten copper fell into a pot of molten glass. The hardness value of goldstone is 5.5 on the Mohs scale.

Though goldstone is not a naturally occurring gemstone, it is still attributed many healing qualities. Said to be an uplifting stone, goldstone helps reduce tension. It assists in securing love, protection, riches and inspired diplomacy. Goldstone is further believed to attract positive energies. Healers use it for tissue regeneration, improved blood circulation, increased metabolism, strengthening of the nervous system and healing infections. Because of the copper content, it’s been used to decrease the pain of arthritis and rheumatism.
